MBTA Fall 2025 Student Semester Pass Program – SAVE 11%
The MBTA offers extensive travel options through-out the greater Boston area. Options include trains, trolleys, ferries, buses and more. Northeastern is served by many convenient transit stops, such as Ruggles Station (via the Orange Line) and the Northeastern t-stop (via the Green Line) which serve the heart of campus. Important Information
- Fall 2025 Semester Passes go on sale beginning June 9, 2025
- Fall 2025 Semester Passes are valid from September 1, 2025 through December 31, 2025. Summer discounted passes are not available.
- Bus and subway passes are issued as a one-time 4 month pass. Commuter passes are issued monthly.
- If you have not purchased one already, you can purchase the pass through Student Hub. In the Resources tab, select Financial Services, then select “Make a Payment with eCheck”. Hit “View All” to see all purchasable options.
- The semester pass will save you 11% off the standard monthly pass price
- Semester T passes will be sold online through Friday, August 8th at 5PM EST. No Extensions.
- Limit – 1 semester pass per student.
- Payment must be made in full for the listed price of the pass at the time of order. Unpaid or partial payments made prior to the deadline will result in no pass being ordered.
- The MBTA has a NO exchange, NO cancellation, NO refund policy. Please finalize your plans for the Spring 2025 academic term before purchasing a semester T pass.
- Once your pass has been ordered, it will be purchased and sent to Husky Card Services. You will be contacted in August with more information on picking up your pass.

Picking Up Your MBTA Pass
- Students who purchase passes will be emailed in August regarding pickup dates, times, and locations.
- Monthly Commuter Rail pass purchasers will be emailed monthly. Passes are not guaranteed to be available for pickup until the 29th each month.
- You must present and swipe your valid Husky Card to pick up your pass.
- Passes cannot be mailed and will not be available outside office hours. There is one late pickup per month until 6pm. You may also designate an alternate person to pick up your pass by emailing our office in advance.
Pass Information/ Troubleshooting
- LinkPass, Local Bus, and Express Bus passes are issued as plastic cards valid for the entire 4 month term.
- LinkPass, Local Bus, and Express Bus passes may be replaced if lost, damaged, or malfunctioning. Email huskycard@northeastern.edu. Replacements typically arrive 2-3 business days after requesting. Please note there is no refund or compensation for commuting expenses incurred while the new pass arrives, regardless of reason.
- Commuter Rail passes are issued as paper tickets for 1 month at a time. Students who purchase Commuter Rail passes will be emailed monthly to pick up their pass.
- Commuter Rail passes cannot be replaced by Husky Card Services until the next month’s pass is issued. Please take a photo of the front and back of your card each month that clearly shows the serial number. You may be able to receive additional support from the MBTA directly.
- All Commuter Rail passes include access to subway lines and buses. You do not need to purchase an additional pass for local transport.
